Photovoltaic panels and wind turbines can, indeed must, coexist with the Italian landscape. This is supported by three of the main national environmental associations, Fai, Legambiente and Wwf
which - reports the newspaper la Repubblica - have signed an agreement to reaffirm that the growth of renewable energy sources is necessary for the country and that it can be pursued in full compliance with the beauty.
This while, on the contrary,
the Undersecretary for Culture Vittorio Sgarbi compares the installation of wind farms to the "rape of children".
The one between the three associations dedicated to the protection of the environment and cultural heritage is defined as
a "historic agreement", which divides the front of those who, starting with Italia Nostra, oppose, without ifs and buts, the exploitation of sun and wind in the name of the Italian landscape
.
Fai, Legambiente and WWF have produced a joint document entitled "Renewable Landscapes" aiming to
"combine the objectives of the energy transition with foresight in landscape planning and the quality of design"
.
And they identify the twelve stages necessary to achieve it: from the diffusion of energy communities to the development of agri-voltaics to the efficiency of existing wind farms.
