After the rumors at the end of October, which arrived thanks to the analysis of the beta versions of WhatsApp, Meta has finally launched the update for everyone which introduces the possibility of creating one's own avatar on the chat service.
Available following the "settings" and then "avatar" path, the function allows you to create the character from scratch, to be used as a profile icon and for a total of 36 personalized "stickers", static and animated images to send to contacts.
As per Meta's strategy, the launch of the avatars is the first step in creating the metaverse, a platform where the different platforms of the group will allow interaction using a single online presence, reproduction of the physical self in the digital world.
"Your avatar is a digital version of you that can be created from billions of combinations of hairstyles, facial features and outfits," explains the app on the official blog.
"It can also be a way to show off to others without using real photos and have more privacy. For many people it will be their first experience with creating an avatar and we will continue to offer style improvements, including lights, shadows, hair textures and more that over time will make the avatars more and more realistic".
