Under the title “Economic and Development Contributions,” the Faculty of Economics at Damascus University, in cooperation with Syriatel, held its fourth international conference for postgraduate students “Master’s and Ph.D.”

The conference participants discussed over several sessions 18 scientific papers that were selected out of 70 papers submitted to the conference, from the contributions of postgraduate students in public and international universities in areas related to the reconstruction phase.

The Vice President of Damascus University for Administrative and Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Turko, indicated in his speech that the quantitative and qualitative changes taking place in the economies of any society require in-depth specialized scientific studies and research, especially in times of crisis, to provide solutions in terms of realism of application and the effectiveness of the positive impact on the lives of individuals. and state.

In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Dr. Ammar Nasser Agha, pointed out the need to employ and direct the energies of researchers, especially young people, to vital and strategic issues and topics that deal with various sectors and aspects of life, and to study all problems, phenomena and cases needed by institutions, agencies, ministries, and others, which is thus reflected in the status of Damascus University To be the scientific and research bridge in reconstruction.

In the postgraduate students’ speech, student Wael Al-Hersh explained that the idea of ​​the conference came from the comprehensive vision to enhance the strength of the nation through its researchers, considering that the conference constitutes an opportunity for students to develop a vision for economic and social development in areas related to reconstruction.

PhD student at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Damascus, Sarah Assaf, who supervises the organization of the conference, pointed out the need for everyone to unite for the advancement of the national economy at all levels, noting that cash prizes were allocated for the research participating in the conference.

While Syriatel confirmed in a statement its keenness to be among the first supporters of events that would empower young people in various fields, and to provide them with full support in their professional and scientific career, considering that this type of event constitutes a fertile environment for the exchange of ideas, experiences, constructive criticism and scientific research.
