Misted windows are a problem, especially in winter.

Consumers can get rid of moisture in their cars with six tricks.

Dortmund – If the car window is fogged up from the inside, this can be quite annoying – especially when you are in a hurry.

Consumers are better off not driving without a view of the road - because then they have to expect a fine.

However, six tricks from the ADAC help to quickly get rid of moisture in the car and avoid unnecessary costs, reports RUHR24.

Consumers can set both the

heating

and the

ventilation

to the highest level to protect against the wet.

This has an effect similar to that of a hair dryer, so that the air begins to dry, writes the

ADAC

.

In order to remove the moisture from car windows that are fogged up from the inside, the warm air should be directed upwards onto the window (more news about cars and traffic at RUHR24).

In addition to heating and ventilation, the

air conditioning system

should also be able to get rid of the humid air in the car.

However, this only works at temperatures above five degrees.

If the outside temperature falls below this, the air conditioning switches itself off.

The reason for this: the evaporator could otherwise ice up.

In this case, the air conditioning does not help against fogged windows.

If the temperature is less than five degrees and you want to save electricity, you can use a

rag

instead - but this should be dry and clean.

The windshield can then be dried with the cloth so that the car is no longer fogged up on the inside.

Cleaning the car window is also worthwhile in general - because dirty windows fog up faster than clean ones.

In addition to a cloth, you can also use a drugstore product for cleaning.

Car window fogs up from the inside: Open the windows or leave them closed?

When the car windows are fogged up, drivers often ask themselves whether they should

open the windows

or leave them closed.

According to the

ADAC

website , there is a clear answer: "If the air outside is drier than inside the vehicle, it makes sense to initially open the windows and exchange air

to care.

In rain and fog, on the other hand, that's of little use."

In order not to use one of the life hacks in the first place, consumers should make sure from the outset that there is as

little moisture

as possible

in the car

.

For example, it can be checked whether the car is sealed.

Even wet floor mats can be removed to dry.

The parking location also causes fogged windows in some cases - for example in poorly ventilated garages.

These can be recognized, for example, by puddles on the floor.
