(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 12 - "On immigration we finally start with a strong initiative by the European Union, with Italy, France and Spain and a series of African interlocutors: if we want to respond to the problem of immigration we must affect the causes and therefore these investments that will be made will help Africa grow".
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said this after EU's announcement of the Team Europe initiatives on immigration.
"There has been interest on the African side, this is an operational response and Italy wants to be a protagonist".
