The call for projects launched by the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC), in conjunction with the Caisse des dépôts, to bring out, among other things, a dozen major film studios, was a success.
No less than 175 candidates, French or European, have submitted a file.
Closed on October 31, this call for projects, dubbed "La grande fabrique de l'image", is part of the France 2030 recovery plan, which should allow the audiovisual sector to benefit from an envelope of 350 million euros in total grant.
It aims to respond to a dual problem: the lack of studios and filming infrastructure upstream, the scarcity of talent and technicians downstream.
The CNC should announce the names of the successful candidates next March.
Seats will be expensive.
