Status Quo and Manfred Mann's Earth Band played in Munich's Olympiahalle.

There were so many delicacies in this Christmas rocker.

Our concert review:

Nothing against "Silent Night" during Advent.

But for classic rock fans, things can bang and rattle just before Christmas.

Status Quo made sure of that in the respectably packed Olympiahalle in Munich – with a little help from their friends from Manfred Mann's Earth Band.

There were so many delicacies in the Christmas rock shop.

And Status Quo's motto remains: Yes Sir, we can Boogie!

In Munich, Manfred Mann's Earth Band is more than just an "opening act"

The Earth Band, which nobody in good conscience would reduce to the “opening act”, made the start.

Even at the age of 82, the great Manfred Mann still plays the organ like a youngster.

On "Blinded by the Light" he even ventured to the front of the stage and supported singer Robert Hart.

After a prog-rock start, the classics "Davy's on the Road Again" and "Mighty Quinn" heated up the 19-degree energy-saving hall for Status Quo.

Francis Rossi is the only founding member of Status Quo

While the Earth Band still has at least two founding members on board in Manfred Mann and guitarist Mick Rogers, Quo's pity is that only the indestructible boogie rock godfather Francis Rossi (73) is left.

And who cares?

none!

Of course, Rick Parfitt is still missing six years after his death.

But the usual form-strong Rossi has put together a magnificent band around guitar chick Richie Malone (36) alongside his faithful keyboardist Andy Bown (since 1976).

From the opening song “Caroline” to the medley with “What you're proposing” and “Again and Again” – Quo couldn't sound more like Quo.

On average, Thomas Gottschalk's favorite band is now just under 60. We bet that there will be more in the next few years?
