Turkish delivery giant Getir agrees on a deal worth millions with an exceptional German company

Getir is not yet well known nationwide - but that will probably change soon.
The Turkish delivery service has now completed the merger with German competitor Gorillas.
Munich – A trend towards delivery services has not only been observed since the corona pandemic.
However, in addition to providers who have ready-made meals in their repertoire, there is also a demand for suppliers who deliver digital purchases to customers beforehand.
In addition to various supermarkets, so-called quick commerce providers such as Flink, Flaschenpost or Gorillas also follow this principle.

the latter has now been taken over by Turkish competitor Getir after two months of negotiations.
Successful negotiations between Gorillas and Getir: deal probably worth millions
The Berlin startup had been looking for a company to take over the business since October of this year.
With a valuation of one billion US dollars in March 2021, Gorillas is considered a so-called unicorn and, according to Tagesschau, has become more valuable than any company before.
What Getir paid for gorillas is not known;
according to

, however, an offer of 100 million US dollars and company shares of twelve percent is said to have been in the room.
Recent arguments about an unauthorized Munich location of gorillas seem to fade in the face of such figures for the actors.
Getir on Gorillas deal: "Lead consolidation in this sector"
Getir itself is valued at $10 billion and has a strong position in the domestic market.
Although the company is still little known in Germany, this is likely to change shortly as a result of the deal with gorillas and cooperation with the Lieferando delivery service.
The recently announced cooperation between gorillas and the natural food supplier Alnatura could also suit the new owner in terms of the range of products.
Getir will probably not fail in Germany because of the demand.
"The industry of super-fast food delivery will continue to grow steadily in the coming years," says Nazim Salur, founder of Getir.
According to a statement, the acquisition of Gorillas underscores “how Getir is leading the consolidation in this sector”.
