District Court Judge Yitzhak Banai, the father of actress and comedian Orna Banai and musician Avitar Banai, passed away at the age of 92. His family announced this evening.
Yitzhak is one of the members of the Banai family, one of the most well-known and respected families of artists in Israel.
His son, Meir Banai, passed away in early 2017 as a result of cancer.
Banai's funeral will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) and the family announced that they will spend seven days at the parents' house in Jerusalem.

Banai was born in Jerusalem in 1930.
In the late 1950s he began working as a lawyer, before opening a private office in 1966.
Three years later he was elected to serve as a judge in the Magistrate's Court.
In 1978 he was appointed to a permanent position as a judge at the Beit Mishmat District in Beer Sheva.
At the beginning of 1999 he retired.
