A captivating game of mirrors and masks, set on a seemingly timeless Côte d'Azur, with references to classics such as To Catch a Thief and Crime in Full Sun, amidst elaborate scams, false identities, lies and revenge.

It's Masquerade - Thieves of love, the noir dramedy by Nicolas Bedos, with a supercast that includes Pierre Niney, Isabelle Adjani, Francois Cluzet, Marine Vacth, Emmanuelle Devos and Laura Morante.

After its debut at Cannes, and around 900,000 viewers in France just over a month after its release, the film arrives in Italy on December 21st, distributed by Lucky Red.

"Unlike what I do in Masquerade, I'm not good in life at wearing masks, at being inside a role - explains Laura Morante, in Rome to present the film together with Marine Vacth -.

One of Bedos' talents is being an author who does not refer to more or less realistic stories with social issues, but refers to another type of cinema, that of the 40s and 50s.

As Alain Resnais also did in the second part of his career - adds Laura Morante -.

I've seen his previous films (including Belle Epoque) and I liked them a lot, also because he's a very good dialogue writer". Marine Vacth agrees with her: "One of Nicolas' strengths is a writing that is calibrated to all the characters.

They all have their own density and characterization.

It was a formidable experience working with a director who, being an actor as well, knows how to give you the space to express yourself". Margot shows different faces in Masquerade "but I too in life, like Laura,

I struggle to wear masks - underlines the French actress -.

However, it is true that for each character, we start from ourselves and in the end we all have multiple faces, which we show according to the moments". Giulia , of the two women, is the more defined: "She is a wounded woman, cheated by her ex-husband and abandoned by her ex-lover" says Laura Morante. While Margot "is an incomprehensible character, more soft-focused - comments Marine Vacth, former interpreter, among others, of Giovane e bella and the Blue Fairy in Garrone's Pinocchio -.

We don't know where her anger comes from, she is a girl seeking revenge". With respect to real battles, Laura Morante, responding to journalists at the end of the press conference, returns to her commitment in defense of Julian Assange, carried out with a committee, formed together,
