(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 13 - "It is a fact that goes beyond the theme of immigration: it is necessary to recognize that everyone must be placed in the same conditions. Italy cannot be the only port of disembarkation".
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reiterates her convictions on the subject of migrants in her reply after the communications to the Chamber in view of the European Council.
And she returns to her relations with her cousins across the French Alps.
"Were you not struck by the French reaction to the first NGO ship that landed migrants in France? No? So you agree that Italy must do on behalf of Europe what all the others are not willing to do... But for me in the EU there must be the same rights and the same duties", reiterated the premier.
"Do you know how many people who entered Italy have been relocated to France? 38 and 57 to Germany. Out of 94,000 who entered Italy this year. This is not the solution that solves the problem. In exchange for what have we relocated 38 people to France and 57 to Germany? In exchange for the expectation that Italy is the only possible port of unloading in Europe", concludes Giorgia Meloni.
