ASCOLI PICENO - The Marches "are a wonderful land, with protagonist cities of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance", a "territory rich in history and beauty" and suggestive villages.

The premise of the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano on a visit to the Civic Art Gallery of Ascoli Piceno and Villa Buonaccorsi in Potenza Picena (Macerata) was followed by a commitment: "we are at work, together with the president of the Region, Francesco Acquaroli, and the mayor of Ascoli Piceno , Marco Fioravanti, to strengthen the Marches, in the international cultural offer".

Furthermore, the Marches in 2024 will be protagonists with Pesaro as the Italian Capital of Culture.

"We have ideas and projects for this immense heritage. - said the minister - The Pnrr will bring over 4 billion euros for culture,

From Piceno, the minister made a stop in Maceratese, where at the beginning of the year, the eighteenth-century Villa Buonaccorsi in Potenza Picena officially became part of the state heritage: the Ministry of Culture, after having exercised the right of first refusal on the property in October 2021, has allocated 2,290,490 euros for the purchase of the property which includes large gardens, with five terraces in different styles and connected by a staircase.

"We will also work to find the necessary resources for the recovery of Villa Buonaccorsi, - assured Sangiuliano - an extraordinary place that deserves to come back to life with a multifaceted function, conference and museum".

"

We must preserve this cultural heritage - observed the minister with regard to the Marches - and at the same time make it an economic driving force that can grow the GDP and give job opportunities.

In terms of cultural tourism, some cities are already at capacity.

We have to let the world know another Italy that is no less important and relevant". "Culture must not be a static and conservative fact.

- the general consideration of the minister - Certainly we must preserve and take care of our heritage but it can only be 5 million works, only 480 thousand are on display.

Culture must become something ever more dynamic for our economy,

especially in a globalized world with tourist flows that will increase in the coming years thanks to the expected arrival of more people from India and China.

Naturally, we must offer visitors the cities of art par excellence such as Florence, Rome, Venice, Naples, etc.

- he concluded - but also territories such as the Marches which have so much to show.

Historical peculiarities that throughout Italy must become a real industry and create employment".
