Brazen scam: Fake sweepstakes or advertisements fool people.
This is currently also affecting potential dm customers.
Dortmund – Whether fake mails from Amazon that block the account or data theft from DHL customers: the Internet is full of phishing scammers.
Criminals use brazen tactics.
One wrong click and you yourself are a victim of a phishing attack.
Because the fakes look deceptively real.
But what is the worst that can happen?
Phishing fraudsters want to trap numerous dm customers and steal data
Phishing scams aim to collect sensitive data and financial information.
If you fall into the trap of fakes, it can end badly.
Data misuse, theft of money - even entire companies can be paralyzed.
dm customers are exposed to such a cyber threat (more digital news at RUHR24).
The well-known drugstore chain “dm” has had to publish warnings several times.
Now the RUHR24 editorial team has discovered another dm phishing scam.
The fraudulent site is supposed to be dm advertising.
It spreads on social networks like YouTube or Instagram.
But what exactly is this unscrupulous phenomenon all about?
Fake sweepstakes are disguised as dm advertising: beware of phishing attacks
On the one hand, the web address of the dm fake is very suspicious.
Now it's time to watch out for the URL: "binjetztdabei.de".
On the other hand, after clicking, the page calls directly for leaving private data, reports RUHR24.
The scammers try to trick their victims with the following words:
"Product tester wanted"
"Answer the five questions and get a gift"
"Win a Balea test package"
"Try it now for free"
"Free Participation"
Another indication is the supposed way to become a product tester.
If you compare the fake page with the official information from dm on testing the products, it becomes clear: the scammers' method of recruiting testers has nothing to do with the real dm approach.
At the request of RUHR24, dm commented on the current case.
Nothing but fake: The two screenshots show what the phishing scam disguised as dm advertising looks like.

The company dm comments on the "product tester" scam on the Internet
The company dm does not seem surprised about the current phishing scam.
With regard to the numerous fakes on the Internet, it is clear how important it is to be informed about fakes:
In recent years, competitions, raffles or campaigns have been circulating that appear to be from dm-drogerie markt.
This is not a new phenomenon and we hope that our customers will not be put off by it.
Customers can only find competitions from dm-drogerie markt on our social media channels, competition tickets, in the alverde magazine or at www.dm.de/neu/gewinnspiele.
Sebastian Bayer – dm managing director for the Marketing + Procurement department
The phenomenon is widespread.
The company is already giving online tips against fake sweepstakes.
The best way to recognize phishing attacks is for customers to take a close look at the website.
URL, contact person, imprint, contact options and conditions of participation often seem suspicious.
They should be compared with the official "dm.de" information (learn more about warnings at RUHR24).
