The pre-Christmas period is packed with warm feelings.

The retail chain Kaufland presents a video with a touching message that goes through the roof in a short time.

Neckarsulm/Munich - Christmas is just around the corner and it's time for warm thoughts, while outside the temperatures are reaching minus degrees.

Right now many people are thinking of solidarity and human togetherness, in the expectation of a happy and wonderful "happy festival".

Some retail chains even go public with a Christmas video to convey a special message, also for marketing reasons.

In recent years, companies such as Lidl, Aldi and Edeka have had more or less heartwarming clips produced.

However, an example from 2020 shows that this is not always possible.

Kaufland inspires with emotional Christmas video "Der Zaun"

At the beginning of December 2022, Kaufland published a video that can be accessed on the YouTube platform, among other places, and has already been viewed over six million times a few days after it was published.

The Neckarsulm-based retail chain's Christmas clip lasts two minutes, 32 seconds and is entitled "The Fence".

The Christmas video, naturally developed by an advertising agency, can generate different feelings: love, sadness, compassion, anger, affection and the happiness of a successful Christmas Eve.

The Kaufland clip seems to have already developed into a successful marketing gimmick.

It's about two families living next to each other.

One seems to be wealthy and lives in a house with a porch and a garden, the other - apparently a single mother with a son and dog - shares a trailer (and owns an old car).

The daughter from a "good family" doesn't value social status and has made friends with the boy next door - but that's a thorn in her parents' side.

Finally, even a fence is placed between the plots, but this does not prevent the children from spending time together.

They meet, play separately, talk and exchange attentions.

This touches many people's hearts - there are actually numerous families and friends who are separated from their loved ones for the most varied of reasons (in extreme cases war).

"The Fence": Kaufland conveys the Christmas message with a popular clip

While the father seemed to have doubts about the garden fence earlier, the mother eventually drags the girl back into the house.

But then finally Christmas came - and the daughter suddenly disappeared.

First the woman decorates the Christmas tree, then the parents can be seen with a flashlight searching in panic.

They finally find the girl at the fence, where she wants to give the boy next door a present - it seems to finally dawn on dad that demarcation and anonymous neighborhood are not the right way to find happiness.

This is how Kaufland’s Christmas commercial has a happy ending:

The father tears down the fence with a vehicle and the girl can give her boyfriend a Christmas present without secrecy.

On Christmas Eve, the unequal families finally sit together where there is a large gap in the fence - and celebrate the "merry Christmas" together.

Of course, music, which consists of an enchanting piano melody, lends a large piece of sentimentality to the video.

Finally, a Christmas message appears that Kaufland not only sent to its customers: "The celebration of love - knows no borders".
