The Rai board of directors meeting in Rome under the chairmanship of Marinella Soldi gave a favorable opinion to the proposal of the Chief Executive Officer Carlo Fuortes to appoint


Nicola Rao as director of Tg2.

Rai made it known.

Nicola Rao, current deputy director of Tg1, succeeds Gennaro Sangiuliano, appointed Minister of Culture in the Meloni government.

To Carlo Pilieci, deputy director of Tg2, who has exercised the role of interim director of the magazine since the end of October 2022, goes the thanks of the Board of Directors for the work done.

The board's approval vote ended with four yeses and three nos.

Marinella Soldi, the directors indicated by the current majority Simona Agnes and Igor De Biasio expressed their favour.

On the other hand, those expressed by Pd and M5s, Francesca Bria and Alessandro di Majo, as well as Riccardo Laganà, elected by employees, are against.

In a note, the CDR of Tg2 "expresses its appreciation for the choice of the board of directors to appoint the director of the magazine within a reasonable time. Our sincere thanks go to the deputy director Carlo Pilieci who led Tg2 ad interim for two months with efficiency, authority and professionalism".
