"I was nurtured to play provocative roles when I was young": this is how the successful actress Scarlett Johansson stated in a recent interview.
• Superheroine: Scarlett Johansson lives in the movie
Johansson, the 38-year-old star of the Marvel movies who has cultivated a successful acting career since she was a child, sat down for a dense conversation with Bruce Busey on the Table for Two podcast, and shared with him and the listeners how her managers at the beginning of her professional career directed her to the role of the hot and seductive female character.
"I was innocent and such girls are objectified and that is simply a fact," she said.
"I believe that the 'box' they are put in is the one that outlines for them the way their lives will look," she said, but added that she believes that today women have much more power and the ability to choose their own path.

Johansson added and said that around the time of puberty she began to embrace her femininity and began to flirt with her sexuality and desirability, which did not really help her, as she admitted, in her attempts to escape from the same seductive sexual pattern she was cast into.
"I think that because of the route that was laid out for me, I just got stuck there," she said.
"I was simply nurtured to be what is called 'the bombshell'. I played the other woman, the object of desire, and suddenly I found myself pushed into a corner without being able to get out of it," said Scarlett about the time when she starred in films such as "A Girl with a Pearl Earring" "Meeting Point" and "Lost in Tokyo".

Johansson added and said that she realized very quickly that choosing roles whose focus was on her appearance was something that she would not be able to sustain for long.
"I think that these roles of the 'bomb' are ones that wear off very quickly and then you find out that you don't have many options beyond that, and I felt that I was 'burning out' quickly," she said.
Johansson, a mother of two, added that becoming a mother influenced the type of roles she chooses for herself today.
"I think it's an important lesson for boys and girls today to teach them to pursue what gives them satisfaction," she said.
