Kelly Green led a fairly routine life with her family in Eastbourne in the south of England.

But at the age of only 32, she decided to leave everything behind her and moved to Tristan de Cona, one of the most isolated islands in the world located somewhere on the southern coast of the Atlantic Ocean.

Only seven families live on the entire island and its entire population is 138 residents.

Access to it is possible only by boat from Cape Town, South Africa, and the journey to it may take between a week and 15 days - depending on the weather.

After going through a difficult separation from her partner, Kelly traveled to this island to visit her parents in 2010, when her father was serving as a diplomat there.

While she was there she met her future husband, 33-year-old Shane Green, a carpenter by trade.

Kelly moved permanently to this island since July 2013 along with Shane and their two children together.

She says that she fell in love with the quiet and cooperative life on the island.

"We all know everything about each other and what's going on in everyone's private lives," she said, "There are only 138 people here, so everyone knows everyone. There is only one policeman on this island and I never had to call him."

The most isolated island in the world.

Have you thought about moving to this island?

She also explained how to get there: "You have to take a flight to Cape Town and there you get on a boat and start a voyage that takes seven to 15 days. When you arrive you discover houses that are made of wood and gas cylinders are used to heat them."

So what do we do on a daily basis?

Kelly runs a travel agency and when she gets home she cooks her children a dinner that includes fish, potatoes and fresh vegetables.

"I really miss going out to eat, but there are no restaurants here or places where you can order takeaway," she said, "there is only one small store. Transporting here is insanely expensive, but I ordered necessary things like Hellmann's mayonnaise."

A small ship comes to this island nine times a year with various shipments, where a small box can cost around £600. Kelly has learned not to rely on ready-made food and knows how to make sushi for her children with fresh fish from the sea, rice and spices such as soy and Thai sauce. On this island There is exactly one pub called "The Albatross": "When it's full there are five people there."

And if you were wondering, the corona virus never reached this island and the residents are waiting for the return of tourism to leverage the island again.
