Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather" from 1972 - nominated for eleven Oscars and winning three of them - is one of the most famous cinema films ever.

The thrilling origin story of the film is now the subject of a new series called The Offer from Paramount+.

A collaboration between production companies DxD Films, The White Mountain Company, Black Mass Productions and Paramount Television Studios with otherwise known opera director Dalia Ibelhauptaite as producer and actor and director Dexter Fletcher ("60 Seconds to Die"), Leslie Greif ("Hatfields & McCoys"), Albert S. Ruddy (the original producer of "The Godfather" and also the main character of the series), Michael Tolkin ("The Player") and Nikki Toscano ("24: Legacy") as executive producers, the new series for the US streaming service Paramount+ realized.

The events surrounding the classic film "The Godfather" are described from the point of view of producer Albert S. Ruddy, who is played by Miles Teller ("Too Old to Die Young").

Juno Temple (of Ted Lasso fame) plays Ruddy's witty assistant, Bettye McCartt.

Matthew Goode ("Downton Abbey") was cast as Ruddy's fellow producer Robert Evans, while Patrick Gallo ("The Irishman") plays the initially unsuccessful later bestselling author Mario Puzo.

Dan Fogler ("Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore's Secrets") joins the cast as eccentric film director Coppola.
