Supermarkets and discounters advertise with crisp offers shortly before Christmas.

A supermarket clearly stands out with its promotions.

Dortmund – Consumers will have to dig deeper into their wallets this year when shopping.

It is worthwhile to pay attention to discount campaigns or cheap offers.

This year, grocers are enticing visitors with downright "hammer prices" and are competing for the best deals.

Supermarkets offer "aggressive price" promotions before Christmas - discounts and half prices

In December, the shopping trolley is sometimes a little fuller than usual. Winter treats, first errands for the holiday meal or Christmas presents end up on the checkout belt.

However, food prices remain high and, according to the Federal Statistical Office, this is not expected to change anytime soon.

As a result, many supermarkets and discounters are currently advertising all the more with "aggressively priced" offers, reports

Lebensmittelzeitung

.

For customers, this often means goods at the same prices as last year, despite inflation.

Before Christmas, the grocers stir the advertising drum again, as RUHR24 reports.

Aldi Nord, for example, offers Langnese Cremissimo ice cream for less than half the usual product price of 3.49 euros.

Lidl attracts customers to the stores with the Lidl Plus app.

The Lidl Plus app is also a prerequisite for a new "Click & Pick" function for fireworks from discounters.

But discounts such as 65 cents for a bottle of Coca-Cola are also said to prove that Lidl has “unbeatable prices”.

Supermarkets advertise with "aggressive price" offers - Netto sells fruit and vegetables for one cent

Customers were recently able to find a rather unusual campaign at Netto.

Selected fruit and vegetable items only cost one cent.

The prerequisite for this, however, is a minimum purchase value of 30 euros.

According to a study by the price transparency service provider Smhaggle, Aldi Süd often had the lowest prices for product offers up until the beginning of November.

However, this is also due to the reduced marketing of goods via advertising campaigns.

According to the results, however, Lidl is not entirely convincing.

Because the service providers found that the promotional goods were usually six to seven percent more expensive than at Rewe, Edeka, Kaufland and Aldi.

As the

Lebensmittelzeitung

reports, customers with full-range retailers can usually find even better prices with top brands than with many discounters.

Supermarket promotions before Christmas: Kaufland outbids everyone with price offers

Kaufland delivered by far the most promotional products this year.

With around 41,151 promotional products, the supermarket clearly outperforms the other competitors.

In comparison, Rewe, for example, only offered about half this number.

This advertising strategy seems to be paying off, because the full-range retailer has increased its sales significantly after the first ten months of 2022.

The reason for this could also be the Kaufland integration of Real stores.

Among the discounters, Netto ranks first for the most product promotions, followed by Penny.

As an affiliated company of Kaufland, Lidl can also be satisfied with this year's promotional business.

A sophisticated supply strategy with changing prices and pack sizes ensures positive sales development.

Most recently, however, the discounter also got into the shortage of the consumer advice center due to "cheating packages".
