The generalized drop in temperatures that has affected Italy in recent days, combined with the goal of avoiding a new winter wave of Covid infections in schools, is transforming the everyday life of many students into a real fight against the cold.
According to a survey carried out by Skuola.net - on a sample of 5,000 high school students - almost half (44%) chatter their teeth when they are in class due to the low temperatures in the classroom.
To which is added 31% who, while not talking about frost, still complain of some discomfort.
Only 1 out of 4, in the end, says they are in a pleasant environment from a climatic point of view.
Some might think that such a picture is the direct consequence of the current energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, with the dramatic increase in the cost of heating sources.
And, in fact, this is partly the case: over a quarter of students "in the cold" (27%) say that this happens because the radiators are turned on less to limit consumption.
But even Covid continues to be frightening, especially from the point of view of teaching continuity: 25% believe that the cold in the classroom is generated by the need to keep the windows open as much as possible to prevent the circulation of the virus.
