ECB: Villeroy, possible Qt acceleration from July

(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 16 - The ECB "will probably accelerate the speed of monetary tightening (Qt) from July".

This was stated by the governor of the Bank of France Francois Villeroy de Galhau at an event, as reported by Bloomberg.

For the central banker, however, "the economy of the euro area will avoid" a sharp drop and the central bank will proceed with "proportionate rate hikes".
