(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 16 - The Greek coastguard has rescued 97 migrants near the island of Kea in the Cyclades, about 80 kilometers from the capital Athens.
The authorities made it known, write the Dpa and the Belgian agency.
Four people who were on the boat were arrested on human trafficking charges.
According to the first testimonies of the people on board, the boat had left from Smyrna in Turkey and was heading towards Italy.
The traffickers allegedly demanded 8,000 euros per person to make the crossing.
All passengers are safe and sound, local authorities specified.
