Some batches of an organic product from the drugstore chain dm could be contaminated with salmonella.
The company is recalling the product.
Munich – Anyone who has bought organic pepper from dm or has it on the spice shelf at home should take a look at the best-before date.
Certain batches of the organic product could possibly be contaminated with salmonella.
The drugstore chain dm is starting a product recall for reasons of preventive consumer protection.
dm recalls organic peppers due to suspected salmonella
It is about "dm organic black pepper, whole grains, 70 g." Only the goods with the best before date 09/2025 and 11/2025 are in the recall.
Other products in the dm Bio range should not be affected.
The salmonella were found during self-checks, writes dm in a press release.
The consumption of food contaminated with salmonella - be careful with cookie dough - can cause diarrhoea, abdominal pain and occasional vomiting and a slight fever.
Babies, small children, senior citizens and people with a weakened immune system in particular could develop more severe illnesses.
Symptoms usually go away on their own after a few days.
A doctor should be consulted if symptoms are severe or persistent.
Organic pepper: Customers should not consume affected batches and should bring them back to a store
Customers are asked not to consume the product with the above-mentioned BBD and to bring it back to the dm stores unopened or already opened.
The purchase price will of course be refunded – even without presenting the receipt.
