(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 16 - "It is urgent to reflect on the legal framework" of space activities in Italy: said the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, Authority for the coordination of space and aerospace policies, at the opening of the conference on the theme 'An Italian Law for Space', organized today in Rome at the Chamber of Deputies, by the Leonardo Foundation, Sapienza University and the Bocconi School of Management, on the occasion of National Space Day.
"I hope for nationwide reform," he said.
It is necessary to "fill a regulatory vacuum in Italy" in the space sector, on the model of what has happened in other countries, such as France, Germany, Luxembourg and Japan: added the president of Leonardo, Luciano Carta.
A regulatory framework, he underlined, "will allow our country, which is among the leaders in the space, to operate with the certainty of the law in a reference governance context";
it will also be able to facilitate the development of Italian industry in the space sector, "also through public-private partnerships".
