A while back I wrote a list of the 10 best classic novels.
But even in my childhood and adolescence, a number of books accompanied me and my family.
This time, too, the choice was difficult for me, but an emotional list emerged.
Michael Ende "Momo"

Many of you are still close to the bitter tears from children's eyes when Artax, from "The Neverending Story", sank into the swamp before our eyes.
Nevertheless, I decided on "Momo" by Michael Ende.
This story about the little girl who lives in the amphitheater and saves her friends from the gray gentlemen.
"Momo" has always been closer to me because I always wished for a friend like that when I was a child.
Momo lives on the outskirts of a big city in the ruins of an amphitheater.
She owns nothing but what she finds or what you give her - and one extraordinary gift: she always has time and is a wonderful listener.
One day the men in gray appear.
They're after people's precious lives, and Momo is the only one who can stop them.

Fancy a voyage of discovery?
My space
To this day I can remember, much to the chagrin of my kindergarten teacher, that I wanted to have this children's book read to me almost several times a day in kindergarten.
Even today, I still have a very emotional connection to the story of Frederick the Mouse, who was so different from her friends.
Winter is coming.
All field mice work day and night, gathering grain and nuts, wheat and straw.
All except Frederick.
He collects rays of sunshine, colors and words, these are his supplies for the cold, gray and long winter days.

Here, too, one could have mentioned "The Little Ghost", "Räuber Hotzenplotz" or "The Little Aquarius", but for us it was "The Little Witch" that made for many enjoyable reading evenings.
With her cheeky raven Abraxas, the cheeky witch was the favorite of my children and me.
At 127 years old, the little witch is much too young to dance with the big witches on the Blocksberg on Walpurgis Night.
But that doesn't matter to her: she jumps on her broom and joins in the witches' dance.
However, she did not expect that she could be caught doing it.
As punishment, she has to memorize all the spells and promise to become a good witch.
But how is she supposed to do it?
Luckily, the raven Abraxas, her best friend, helps her.

Astrid Lindgren "Tomte Tummetott"

With no one was it as difficult for me as with Astrid Lindgren.
In fact, I love almost all of her books.
But the magical story of the pixy Tomte Tummetott has a special place in our family.
This children's book is one of the most read and loved titles to this day.
When the stars twinkle in the sky and the snow glows white, Tomte Tummetott, the pixy with the red hat, sneaks around in the moonlight on quiet feet and leaves tiny footprints in his wake.
He watches over the sleeping people and the animals in the yard and tells them about spring, which is coming soon...

Andersen's Fairy Tales

There are certainly an incredible number of fairy tales, be it by the Brothers Grimm, Hauff, etc. But Andersen's fairy tales have always been my favourites.
In particular, the fairy tale of "The Match Girl" is and remains my favorite fairy tale.
And even if Andersen's fairy tales usually don't end as well as Grimm's fairy tales, they are still beautiful.
Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) enchanted whole generations of readers with his dazzlingly imaginative fairy tales.
His world fame is based on the fact that in these stories in particular he understood better than almost anyone else how to elevate the worlds of everyday experience into a colorful narrative cosmos gleaming with ingenuity.
This edition brings together 117 fairy tales written by the great Danish poet.
In addition to the well-known ones, lesser-known ones can also be rediscovered here.

What a story!
How much would you like to have read your favorite characters from books
yourself
.
Once flying through the air with Fuchur, once fighting orcs alongside Aragorn.
My children loved the story by Cornelia Funke.
Drachenreiter was also very welcome.
The author has such beautiful language, these stories are not to be missed.
"Inkheart" is the first volume in a series, the fourth part of which the author has just published.
n one stormy night, a spooky guest appears at Meggie's and her father Mo's.
He warns Mo about a man named Capricorn.
The next morning, Mo rushes to her aunt Elinor's with Meggie.
Elinor has the most valuable library that Meggie has ever seen.
This is where Mo hides the book that everything revolves around.
A book that Mo last read many years ago and which is now the focus of an incredible, magical and breathtaking adventure, an adventure in the course of which Meggie not only solves the mystery of Magic Tongue and Capricorn, but also big ones herself danger device.

Where we have often been when there was a difficult choice.
With Neil Gaiman, too, I had an incredibly difficult time deciding between "Coraline" and "The Graveyard Book".
In the end I chose this story.
Even though it seems a little darker, it's one of the most wonderful stories I've ever read.
They come in a variety of forms and I therefore have different editions on my shelf.
Coraline has moved into a gloomy old house with her parents.
The neighbors are very strange: the crazy gentleman with a mustache talks about his mouse circus, the quirky actresses warn them about the deep well in the garden.
One day she comes across a bricked up door in the house.
And sees dark shadows disappearing there.
What is behind it?

How I devoured the story about the little vampire Rüdiger von Schlotterstein and his human friend Anton!
Long before vampires started to glitter, this vampire family was absolutely cult - until today.
Whether the old or the new editions, it is always worth an adventure.
Anton hasn't seen his friends, the little vampire Rüdiger von Schlotterstein and his sister Anna, for three hundred and forty-three nights.
Anton's joy is all the greater when one night Anna sits on his window sill.
As head vampire, Anna has a lot of new responsibilities and asks Anton to help her through the summer.
Anton comes at the right time, because since his parents separated, they hardly have any time for him.
With Anna, however, it promises to be an exciting holiday!
If only it weren't for the question of all questions that Anna can only ask him three times - and which confronts Anton with a final, irrevocable decision: Does he want to become a vampire himself?
The exciting last volume of the successful series about the little vampire Rüdiger, his friend Anton and Anna von Schlotterstein!
