The flurry of strikes against the maneuver in 11 regions is underway

 The flurry of general strikes called by the CGIL and UIL against the Meloni government maneuver is underway.

For the whole day they will concern eleven Italian regions and will affect all sectors, from healthcare to banks.

Particular inconveniences are expected for local public transport, with the stop of buses, metro and trains that risk sending the big cities into a tailspin, starting from Rome, Milan and Naples.



    The time slots for absences from work vary from region to region.

Those concerned are South Tyrol, Basilicata, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Friuli, Liguria, Lombardy, Molise, Sardinia, Tuscany and Lazio.

At the moment there are no reports of particular critical situations.



The times of the transport strike in the various cities

- In particular, in Rome the transport strike will involve the entire network between 8pm and midnight, while in Milan ATM personnel will strike between 6pm and 10pm. Again in Lombardy, a strike is also called from 9am to 1pm. Trenord staff.

In Campania the stop will be between 9 and 13, in Tuscany local public transport will be stopped for four hours, but with different times in each city.

In Florence the agitation will start from 6pm to 10pm.

Salvini: unmotivated and ideological strike 

- "Thanks to the common sense of Cisl, Ugl and their members. By not supporting an unmotivated and ideological strike against the government, they will not complicate the day for millions of workers. Problems are faced and solved with dialogue , not with the ideological clash".

This is what the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini affirms.    

Landini: more austerity than what the EU is asking for

- Brussels has given the green light to the maneuver because "Meloni and Giorgetti, who have always criticized Europe, have implemented a maneuver that is more austerity than what Europe is asking for", says the general secretary of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini at the demonstration in Rome.

"At the same time there is no intervention on extra profits, and this is madness, in a country where profits and extra profits have increased, cash is raised on basic income, pensions, workers' wages", he adds, "this It's a very specific choice."

- Approximately 1,200 demonstrators in the streets of central Florence at the procession organized by CGIL and UIL in the city.

The procession started in the rain from Piazza dell'Unità Italiana and moves towards Piazza Duomo, passing through Piazza Indipendenza and Piazza San Marco.
