The Legacy of Montezuma: Review of the Disney+ Series Pilot

After two quite crazy films with Nicolas Cage as a treasure hunter, Disney has now started a series for the National Treasure series.

The "Legacy of Montezuma" or "Edge of History" focuses on a dreamer.

But is this aspect emphasized a little too much?

The two previous "Legacy" films aka "National Treasure" fit perfectly with the Gaga persona of Nicolas Cage, who was supported there by Diane Kruger, Justin Batha, Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel.

The strips are much more abstruse than other cinematic adventures and grave robbers like "Indiana Jones" or "Tomb Raider" and sometimes they almost seem like "The Mummy" with Brendan Fraser when it comes to how the protagonists access the clues and clues get to the riddles.

The series version "National Treasure" remains true to all of this, which fans of the series should welcome.

Of course, one or the other modernization of the content should not be missing: The main character is now a woman with a migration background and DACA status, a so-called dreamer, who is tolerated in the USA when she works, but unfortunately also often targeted by Federal authorities like the ICE stands.

The series emphasizes this in the pilot episode "The Ghost" somehow strangely often.
