In Wörth, Bavaria, two people were injured because a tree fell on an S-Bahn station and tore down an overhead line.
The tree hit a young woman who suffered a bruised shoulder and various skin abrasions.
According to the federal police, the 23-year-old also suffered electric shocks – as did a 19-year-old who pulled the injured person out from under the ash tree.
It is unclear how serious the injuries from the electric shock were.
Both of the injured were taken to the hospital for observation.
It is unclear why the tree fell.
The police are investigating, among other things, whether someone has not complied with the traffic safety obligation, the spokeswoman said.
"But it doesn't really look like it because it was a young and healthy tree that was completely uprooted." The tree may also have become too heavy due to the freeze-thaw cycle in the past few days.
The S-Bahn line between Marktschwaben and Erding was completely closed in the morning due to the salvage work.
The Deutsche Bahn has set up a rail replacement service, as announced by the S-Bahn and the federal police.
