Yet another feat by
Gregorio Paltrinieri,
the champion of swimming who in Melbourne won the gold in the 800m freestyle race of the World Championships in short course.
Silver to the Norwegian Christiansen, bronze to the French Fontaine.
"Everything is fine, I'm happy. It was a more difficult race than expected. I thought I'd do a little better in terms of time, but most of all I thought about winning the race".
Thus Gregorio Paltrinieri, to the microphones of RaiSport.
"I did what was needed - Greg says again -. I didn't manage to start as fast as I would have liked, so I waited a moment and then I pushed in the final part. I suffered and struggled more than in the 1500 race. However, records don't matter to me: what I wanted was to be here and win. I'm very happy - he concludes - also for the victory in the relay: as Italy we are very strong".
Italy gold in the mixed 4X50
The blue quartet made up of Mora, Martinenghi, Rivolta and Deplano won the gold medal in the 4X50 medley relay race at the short course swimming World Championships in Melbourne.
With a time of 1'29"72, the four Azzurri also set the new world record.
"Nothing is taken for granted in a world final, with so many top teams, but we were more than the others. It was really nice, we also achieved an incredible result with the world record".
So the blue Lorenzo Mora, speaking to RaiSport, comments 'hot' the blue victory in the 4X50 medley relay of the World Championships in short course in Melbourne.
Silver for Franceschi in the 400 medley women
The Italian Sara Franceschi placed second, and is therefore the silver medal, in the women's 400 medley race at the short course swimming world championships in Melbourne.
Gold to the US Flickinger.
"I'm really satisfied, I don't even know how I did it, this silver is a dream. Everything is beautiful, now it will take me a few days to understand what happened", the 'hot' comment of the Livorno swimmer from the microphones of RaiSport.
