Kaan 11 viewers have already been introduced to "Carthage", the channel's new flagship project, which went on air last night (Sunday).
It is a psychological thriller inspired by real events, about Echelon and Lehi fighters who, during WWII, find themselves imprisoned and isolated in a detention camp in Africa.
The huge production, created by Rashef Levy, Ynetz Levy and Tomer Shani, connects Israeli and foreign actors, and some have already marked it as the next "lockdown hour" of Khan 11. But Yaakov Zeda-Daniel, one of its prominent stars, explains that for him it is actually "more in the direction of of 'Game of Thrones'", in his words, plus inspiration from the Cohen brothers.
A work full of humor, which does not take into account the laws of political correctness and is defined by him as a "bridle dispatch".
And to think that he almost did not participate in it.
from the series,
"There was an amusing behind-the-scenes story, because 'Carthage' and 'Fauda' (in which he participates; ref) were supposed to be filmed on the same dates," he says. 'Fauda'.
They took another actor in my place, and then the filming of 'Fauda' was postponed.
I called Reshef and informed him that I was free, but he said 'there's nothing to do, we closed with another player'.
Then the other actor got sick with Corona, and a week before the filming they told me 'you are flying with us to Colombia'.
It had to happen."
What was the biggest challenge for you in filming?
"We lived for two months in a small, picturesque town. We were a small Israeli team, and together with us there were actors from England, France, Ireland, Germany and local actors. It was a mind craft of writing, production and directing. Perhaps the biggest challenge was returning to Israel."
