"I've been writing songs since I was 19 and I've never shown anything,"
Kate Hudson told Jimmy Fallon during her appearance on the Fallon Tonight Show on Monday, December 12.

The 43-year-old actress, revealed in 2000 thanks to her role in
Almost famous
, a cult film by Cameron Crowe, which earned her a Golden Globe, decided to take up music.
"I've been writing songs since I was 19,"
said Kate Hudson, adding that she simply
"never showed anything"
to anyone.
But a little over two years ago, she had a revelation.
"Every time you give an interview, people ask you, 'Do you have any regrets?'
and I'm like, 'I'm in my early 40s, so no, not yet,'
” the actress says.
"
But during the Covid, I found myself wondering what I was going to do,"
she adds.
Kate Hudson didn't want music to become one of her
"big regrets."
“But I have no expectations.
I just want to release an album, so that's what I'm doing,”
said the star.
She therefore took advantage of the free time offered to her by the pandemic to record her songs.
In April 2022, she announced on her Instagram account that she was getting into music.
Underneath a photo of her in the studio it read,
“Finally realized it's time to say f#%!
it and saaaannngg!!!!!”

Despite everything, the actress has not revealed any information concerning this album which should be released in 2023.
