(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 19 - Transport costs are also affecting off-site students.
Reaching your family for the Christmas holidays can cost more than an intercontinental trip.
This was reported today by Assoutenti, which carried out a survey to understand the expense that off-site students will have to face to return home during the upcoming holidays.
As is well known, in the days leading up to Christmas, thousands of off-site students travel by train, bus or plane to spend the holidays with their families.
- explains Assoutenti - An expense that this year is particularly high, especially for those who decide to shorten the time and use the plane, due to the very heavy increases in the sector's fares, which have risen on an annual basis by 80% for domestic flights.
For example, those who decided today to buy a ticket to fly from Rome to Palermo (one way) would spend 370 euros if they leave on December 21st, 254 euros if they embark on December 23rd, but even 511 euros if they decide to leave on December 20th, practically more than the flight Rome-New York which, on the same date, starts from 459 euros - denounces the association.
All this while the governor of Sicily, Renato Schifani, has continued to "thunder" in recent days, also announcing an appeal to the Antitrust on what he defined as a "cartel" between It and Ryanair.
