(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 19 - At the Energy Affairs Council, according to European sources, a political agreement was found on the gas price cap of 180 euros per megawatt hour.
On the basis of the political agreement reached, the gas price cap will enter into force on February 15th.
The agreement was reached by the European energy ministers by a qualified majority.
Even Germany, after lengthy negotiations, gave its approval.
Hungary was against it, while Austria and the Netherlands abstained.
