The Heritage Mission led by Stéphane Bern, deployed by the Heritage Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Culture and France

Some 20 million euros have been granted for the year 2022 to 100 departmental sites by the Heritage Mission, entrusted to Stéphane Bern, in particular thanks to the Loto du patrimoine de la Française des jeux.

This aid will be paid as the work progresses, on presentation of the invoices.

The most important endowment this year is 300,000 euros, a sum often welcome for the most urgent works.

Here are the monuments or sites that benefit from it, region by region.

Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes

The military fort of Feyzin (Rhône), built between 1875 and 1877, required numerous adjustments and major repairs, in particular on the roof of the building which suffered from waterproofing problems.

Burgundy Franche-Comte

La Grande Saline in Salins-les-Bains (Jura), listed as World Heritage by Unesco since 2009, bears witness to the production of hypnogenic salt, i.e. salt obtained by artificial evaporation salt water.

The synagogue of Foussemagne, near Belfort, is in poor condition.

For nearly a century, this village located on the edge of the Haut-Rhin, on the road linking the city of the Lion to Altkirch, was the only one in France to have a synagogue and no church.

Brittany

The same sum was attributed to the castle of Plessis-Kaër, in Crac'h (Morbihan) which is "in an alarming state of degradation".

The frame is "attacked by dry rot, the roof collapses, the windows are broken and no longer close, the electricity, the plumbing are no longer functional", according to the Heritage Mission.

The outbuildings of the Manoir de Pré in La Chapelle-Guillaume (Eure-et-Loir) date from the 13th century.

Great East

The Berweiller house in Sierck-les-Bains (Moselle) was built in 1624 and is in danger of collapsing.

Hauts-de-France

The ruins of the choir of the old abbey church of Ourscamp (Oise) had begun to show signs of weakness.

“We saw that the arch was damaged in a rather dangerous way”, according to the mayor.

The 300,000 euros are more than welcome to save the Gothic building.

At the castle and its outbuildings of Bouillancourt-en-Séry (Somme), “it gives us the opportunity to tackle the real substantive work, the fundamental subjects of this castle.

That is to say the frames, the roofs and the frames,” explains Vincent de Lardemelle, the owner.

Ile-de-France

Also for the quality of this building, for the quality of its restoration, and because it will then be open to the public,” explains a volunteer at the Heritage Foundation.

The house of the writer Jean Giono in Manosque (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) leans against the hill of Mont d'Or and overlooks the roofs of the city.

The author of the novel "The Hussard on the roof" had lived in his villa Le Paraïs with his family from 1930 to 1970. It was in this residence, acquired in 2016 by the municipality, that he wrote almost all of his work.
