A wheat flour manufacturer launched a recall because of E.Coli bacteria.

Consuming the flour can have health consequences.

Munich – A lot of flour is needed for baking, especially at Christmas time – for cookies, stollen and other delicacies.

But caution is required now.

Because the wheat flour manufacturer CF Rolle Mühle GmbH started a batch recall, reports the portal

foodwarning.de

.

The reason for the recall is the detection of verotoxin-producing Escherichia coli (VTEC/STEC) in the Saxon company's product.

Recall: "Dein Sachsenmehl" affected

Specifically, the recall concerns wheat flour type 550 1kg, which is sold under the name "Dein Sachsenmehl".

Batch 24276 with the best before date 07.08.2024 is affected.

The European article number (EAN) is 813425000308. The reason is exposure to E. coli bacteria.

The product from the manufacturer CF Rolle Mühle GmbH was sold in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Saxony and Thuringia.

The portal warns against consuming the batch.

The manufacturer assures that only products that are not affected by the bacteria are currently on sale.

Danger of infection: Bacteria can be dangerous

E. coli bacteria are commonly found in food and can lead to infectious diseases.

According to the RKI, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting are among the usual symptoms of such an infection.

Fever occurs less frequently.

Severe courses of infection can be particularly dangerous for infants, children, the elderly and people with previous illnesses.

A possible consequence of a severe course can lead to kidney failure.

Anyone who notices severe and persistent symptoms should consult a doctor.

Wheat Flour: Customers get a refund

Customers should no longer process and consume the product with the specified best-before date.

Consumers can return the affected batch of wheat flour to the shop and get a full refund - even without presenting the receipt.

Recall at dm: risk of salmonella in organic product

There are always calls back.

Some batches of an organic product from the drugstore chain dm are also affected.

This is a salmonella contamination.
