Check Out The Incredible Stunt Tom Cruise, 60, Did For Future Mission Impossible 7

2022-12-20T16:24:17.415Z

Better than a trailer or a teaser, the video published by the daredevil actor reveals a crucial - and terrifying - scene from the next episode Dead Reckoning.

Always faster, always higher and always more risky.

Impossible mission ?

Not for Tom Cruise.

For the next episode of the saga dubbed

Dead Reckoning part 1

, which will be released on July 12, the 60-year-old actor was ready to risk everything to perform his new stunt himself.

Hanging from a plane, jumping into the void, slaloming through the streets of Paris on a BMW nineT... We thought he had already done everything in the genre.

We were wrong.

In front of the program concocted by the scriptwriters and inspired, one can guess, by Tom Cruise himself, the insurance companies and the producers had to spend a few sleepless nights.

The waterfall ?

It is a motorcycle jump from the top of a cliff which ends in a base jump for the actor.

With his machine, Tom Cruise launches himself on a very long and high ramp leading to an impressive peak.

The actor must control his vehicle to the end, then let go of his handlebars and fly above the motorcycle precipitated into the void without being embarked with it before diving to finally open a parachute...

"It was my childhood dream”,

says the actor in a ten-minute making-of showing the months of preparations before the jump.

Better than a trailer or trailer.

The training sessions were carried out in England, from a launch pad designed especially for the occasion.

As for the final stunt, it was done in Hellesylt, Norway.

And to take such a risk, only one motivation:

"the public",

declares Tom Cruise with a sense of communication at least as mastered as the stunt.

Five hundred parachute jumps, 13,000 in motocross... For a year, the actor prepared with

"the best experts in each discipline",

says Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the film.

Wade Eastwood, in charge of coordinating the stunts, was surprised at the actor's abilities, especially in his parachute training.

“He was doing 30 jumps a day.

In the end, Tom was a robot”

he exclaims.

All these preparations made it possible to adjust the size of the ramp, the angles of the cameras, to analyze the speed of the motorcycle, the play of the wind...

"Motorcycling is already dangerous, but on such a high ramp, a fall would be terrible,"

explains Miles Daisher, base jump coach.

And on the day of filming, as Tom Cruise rushes down the ramp, the entire film crew holds their breath.

The first jump is a success.

Then the second.

The third... The actor did the stunt five times in the same day.

Better than a “robot”, surely.
