in Melbourne, Australia, shows that coffee can help prevent cardiovascular disease,

The research results were published in the

European Journal of Preventive Cardiology

released.

For the study, 449,563 study participants without cardiovascular disease were examined.

Over a period of twelve years, the scientists analyzed people with an average age of 58, including 55.3 percent women and 44.7 percent men.

The subjects were divided into two groups: those who drank coffee and those who did not drink coffee.

At the same time, the researchers focused on the development of cardiovascular diseases through coffee consumption, such as heart attacks, cardiac insufficiency or strokes.

What the investigations showed: over 43,000 participants who did not drink coffee suffered, for example, heart failure or a stroke over the years.

On the other hand, those who drank two to three cups of coffee per day showed the lowest risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

Those who drink coffee have a lower risk of dying as a result of heart failure or a stroke

The study also showed that regular coffee consumption reduces mortality from cardiovascular diseases: the mortality rate was lowest in subjects who consumed one to five cups of coffee a day.
