However, you often get in your own way, say two advisors to top managers.

What do some people have that enables them to make a career so quickly and successfully that others don't have?

This is a question asked by all those who want to make it, but don't know how.

Is it because they appear more confident?

Or does good looks also play a role?

Others, on the other hand, assume that they have no chance of ever exercising a management position anyway, since one only climbs through relationships.

Two consultants for top managers from business, politics and science named Dorothea Assig and Dorothee Echter see things differently.

In it, they call for more personal initiative, rather than conveniently sticking to common assumptions.
