(ANSA) - FLORENCE, DECEMBER 19 - Closed to the public since last October 17, the Florence Baptistery reopens safely from today.
The closure was necessary to build the construction site structure that will allow the restoration of the approximately 1200 square meters of mosaics in the dome.
By 20 January 2023, as scheduled, explains the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore which oversees the Baptistery, Cathedral and Giotti's bell tower, the construction works on the construction site will be completed: "It is a construction site, the cost of which is entirely supported by the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, and will also allow visitors to see the mosaics up close".
