Gluing was yesterday, now sawing: activists of the so-called "last generation" sawed off the top of the Christmas tree in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on Wednesday.

Because the action would inevitably raise the question of why, two women in the group unveil a banner at a dizzy height in advance.

Then the message: »This is just the tip of the Christmas tree«.

The Nordmann fir is then shortened from its original height of 15 meters to a height of 13 meters using a hand saw.

It probably shouldn't be legal.

Policeman: "Come down now, otherwise we'll drive you down."

Policeman: "Well, we also have an emergency service here.

We're happy to help too.«

Activist: "That's why our resistance will continue over Christmas and into the new year."
