The Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa announces today (Wednesday) that it will build over 80 apartments for discounted rent in six different projects during the year 2023, as part of the affordable apartment projects.

The Tel Aviv Municipality adds that during the year additional housing units will become available and will be allocated to lotteries.

In addition, the Tel Aviv Municipality announces that there will be an easing of the bureaucratic procedure and those eligible will be asked to register for all the lotteries in 2023 through a one-time registration.

The registration will allow automatic participation in all the lotteries that will be held throughout the year, and will only be open during the registration period that will open today, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, and will end on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

Eligible persons who wish to register for the lotteries - will be required to fill out a short characterization questionnaire, designed to classify them according to the size of the apartment that suits their needs (according to the number of people and the composition of the household).

The details and characteristics will be saved in a computerized system, and the registrants will be drawn automatically in each project, which will include apartments of a size that meets their needs.

As of today, the city has more than 400 housing units within reach, with more than 80 additional apartments to be occupied during 2023, as mentioned, and thousands more housing units are in various planning stages.

As you may recall, last June the Tel Aviv Municipality announced its decision to launch a new housing program, with the aim of increasing the stock of affordable housing throughout the city.

As part of the plan, the municipality determined that in every residential project that will be built on private land in its area - 15% of the apartments will be allocated to affordable housing, with the exception of 10% in the south of the city.

Recently, this decision became an actual demand from the entrepreneurs.

The Mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Ron Huldai:

"The Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa continues to lead the housing revolution in the field of reduced-price rentals by planning an unprecedented amount of affordable housing apartments in the city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa. Currently, hundreds of affordable housing units are inhabited in the city , and thousands of such housing units are in various stages of planning and construction. We are working in the light of an urban vision, which refers to the urban housing policy in all its aspects with a long-term vision, and with the aim of realizing a future image of an attractive city to live in for a variety of populations, throughout the entire life cycle and we hope that the country will also wake up and work to promote the issue. We are proud to open the annual registration system that will make it easier for our residents, so that with just one registration they will be able to compete for all the housing lotteries that will be held this year."

Eli Ginzberg, CEO of Ezera Beztron:

"This project is one of the city's significant ways to create diverse residential alternatives in the city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and to provide the rental market in the city with additional apartments at a discounted price compared to the market. For some apartments, we are already in the second round of lotteries, which allow more and more households, residents of the city, to enjoy rentals Fair and long-term. We work in cooperation with the developers and the municipality to preserve and nurture these apartments so that as many as possible can enjoy them."

The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality Housing Authority points out that the one-time registration process is a huge advantage for residents who will be in an active pool when the municipality will automatically enroll them in all the relevant projects that will be opened.
