On the advertising poster, Alicia Silverstone poses in the simplest device, surrounded by cacti, and simply wearing large vegan leather boots.
The message displayed is direct: "Don't be a moron / Wear vegetal / Buy cactus, mushroom or apple leather instead".
In the promotional video for the campaign, she also explains that leather can be made from pineapples and dreams of standardizing these practices among “top designers”.
A committed gesture
"I never, ever get naked on TV, in movies, anything, ever, no - but I did it for PETA, that's how much [this cause] means to me," explained the
Beauty Shop
(2005) actress
in that same video.
“[People] don't realize the amount of resources—water, food, oil for transportation—the extraordinary amount of energy that leather-making requires.
It's just not sustainable.
The Earth can't stand that."
