(ANSA) - BUENOS AIRES, DECEMBER 21 - Haydée Gastelú Garcia Buela, historic Mother of Plaza de Mayo, among the first to challenge the Argentine dictatorship in search of her missing son, died in Buenos Aires at the age of 94.
For some time president of the movement of the Mothers ofPlaza de Mayo-Linea Fundadora, Haydée Gastelù was hospitalized a few days ago after suffering a stroke.
One of the last to greet her in the hospital was Tay Almeida, a companion in many battles for human rights, who declared to the media: "Another Mother has gone! And what a Mother! The pain is enormous!".
Via Twitter, the government's Human Rights Secretariat deeply regretted the death of one of the 14 Mothers who gave life to the movement on April 30, 1977 on the historic square of the Argentine capital.
In a subsequent tweet, the Secretariat underlined that the Mother was an "example of resistance, memory and incessant struggle for human rights".
And that "after 25 years of research Haydeé managed to find the body of her son Horacio, murdered in the Fatima massacre".
