 A police officer from the Primavalle police station, in Rome, was served a precautionary order of house arrest for the accusation of torture in relation to the story of Hasib Omerovic, the 36-year-old who crashed last July 25 from his home during of a search by the police.

The measure was notified by the Flying Squad.

The Public Prosecutor's Office also charges against the agent the crime of false ideology committed by a Public Official in public deeds.


The 30-year-old is still hospitalized due to the fall.

At the same time as the precautionary measure against the policeman, four other guarantee notices were served to as many policemen under investigation, for various reasons, of false ideology committed by a Public Official in public documents and misdirection, and against whom searches are underway.

"The investigations were conducted promptly by the State Police under the constant directives of the Public Prosecutor's Office", explains a note.

In the charge Andrea Pellegrini is accused of having "abused his powers and in violation of his function, in the course of the activity aimed at identifying" Hasib Omerovic and with "the commission of multiple and serious acts of violence and threats" caused to the man, affected by deaf-mutism, "a verifiable psychic trauma, by virtue of which he fell into the void after having climbed over the sill of the bedroom window in an attempt to flee to escape the violent and threatening conduct in place in his comparisons".

The magistrate's order reconstructs what happened in the apartment on 25 July.

The prosecutors, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Michele Prestipino, ascertained that the agent entered "inside the house, immediately and for no apparent reason" hit Omerovic "with two slaps in the area between the neck and the face, contextually addressing her address, with a decidedly altered attitude, the following sentence: 'don't you ever dare to do those things again, to take pictures of that little girl'" and after having grabbed "a kitchen knife and brandished it at the address" of man.

Pellegrini then broke down Omerovic's bedroom door, although the latter "promptly took action to hand over the keys".

Once inside the room he forced the 38-year-old to sit on a chair and after having pulled a wire from the fan "he used it to tie Omerovic's wrists brandishing" once again "the kitchen knife at the man, threatening him, yelling at him the following phrase 'if you do it again, I'll stick it in your c…' and "he hit him again with a slap and kept yelling at him, repeatedly telling him 'don't do it again'" "The events are undoubtedly of serious entity, committed in disregard of the public function performed, as well as violating fundamental rules of respect for human dignity.
