Walla's updated New Year's Eve 2023 guide!

Food includes, as of now, almost a hundred more tempting options (or more) to close the past year, and immediately open the next civil year.

I write "updating" and "currently" because this list is growing exponentially, expanding up and down and to the sides, and reflects a status that is almost self-evident, but still needs to be shouted - want to celebrate, want to smile, want to kiss, want to be happy, roughly in that order.



There are solid meals that have been slightly embellished at the edges, there are special menus and countless specials that are mainly food or alcohol, or both.

There are decorations, mixes and mixology, there is pricing that used to be considered "wow" and today is more "oh, not that much more expensive than any other week of the year", and there is not a single Israeli DJ who will be left without a job that night.



And yet, with all the effort and energy and investment - *such* is not there.

This is what happens when you think outside the box, but inside a playground big enough and generous enough to allow for desired rampages

"Hotel de Champagne 2023" is the result of the collaboration between the Atlas hotel chain (and its Becstage hotel specifically) and Moët Chandon, and is also what happens when you think a little outside the box, but still within a playground large enough and generous enough to allow for desired frolics.



The project will run for one week only (December 25-31), occupy the boutique hotel at the back of Dizengoff Square, disguise it as a kind of elegant champagne salon and set a particularly challenging bar for anyone who from now on will say "pop-up", "limited edition" and other such expressions which until now have only eroded, and from now on they will bubble their way out of the champagne glass.

The open-closed space, with its gifts, flows naturally into the hotel's ten rooms, which have been converted into a sort of real estate champagne house - with bottles, goblets, handmade candles (yes, a champagne bolt, what exactly did you think was going on here?), strawberries and macarons filled with champagne cream, balloons Silvers and golds and an atmosphere of gentle agitation. More than that could have been a two-match. In practice, it turned out just right.

"Stanley", the great night bar of Gal Arazi and Eyal Drori, will join the celebration with things he knows how to do better than others - a dedicated cocktail-mixing-pouring menu, special, some say sensual, we'll talk about the rest after the hangover.



The products of the champagne house will be paired, for example, with local blueberry liqueur and winter spices with delicate lace twill and homemade blueberry jam on top (NIS 68), or with green melon liqueur with white chocolate and citrus peels - a smart and exciting "Midori Sour" version, and also with a white spaghetti, with the same In the subtlest of subtleties, and a balance that would throw all the Darcy forearms of the world off balance.
