(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 22 - Sea arrivals to Italy exceeded 100,000 in 2022: 100,985 to be precise, according to data provided daily by the Interior Ministry.
In one year, therefore, the landings reached the total recorded in the previous two years, 2021 (when they had been 67,477) and 2020 (34,154).
Egyptians are the most numerous of the migrants who arrived this year (20,486), followed by Tunisians (17,898) and Bengalis (14,381);
the flow from Syria (8,554) and Afghanistan (7,162) was also substantial.
There are 12,505 unaccompanied minors.
