The request of the oppositions to remove from the maneuver the paragraphs of the maxi-amendment relating to the rule that allows hunting in the city was rejected in the Chamber in the Chamber.
M5s, Pd and Avs intervened claiming that the measure was introduced by an inadmissible amendment because it is not relevant to the matter of the Budget law.
The current president of the Chamber, Fabio Rampelli, replied that "there are no conditions for convening the Council for the Regulations" and therefore the provision must be considered admissible.
Trained hunters will shoot down wild boars, the ok from the Regions is needed
They will be hunters but "after attending training courses" coordinated by agents of the regional or provincial police forces to participate in the plans to control the number of wild boars which provide for the killing and capture of animals also in the city.
Plans that are authorized by the Regions, having consulted the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, if other control measures have proved ineffective.
This is what the amendment on the matter approved to the maneuver provides.
In addition to trained hunters, the authorities in charge of coordinating the plans can make use of the owners or tenants of the funds in which the plans are implemented, provided they are licensed for hunting, and also in their case, after attending training courses .
Finally, the hunting guards, agents of the local police force, may be involved, with the possible support, but in technical and coordination terms, of the personnel of the Unit Command for forest, environmental and agri-food protection of the Carabinieri.
Bonelli: "Irresponsible"
"The amendment that opens hunting in parks and urban areas we consider it irresponsible, how can one think of wshooting in urban areas, someone has to explain it to us and someone must also explain to us the reason why it is said that they can be started selective culling of wildlife in general.So in Trentino President Fugatti will be able to say that there are bears in excess, wolves in other parts, while I remind this majority that the wolf is the only predator left on the wild boars, contextually thousands of wild boars are introduced into the territories to allow hunting as happens in the south.We are in a situation of total irresponsibility and frankly there could be different measures because the law already provides for selective culling,but the certain thing is that this is a rule that is absolutely incompatible, not only with our constitution and article 9, but also with the habitat and nature conservation directive of the European Union".

Federparchi: "We need specialists"
"There is widespread discussion and confusion about the law for the control of wildlife. Hunting is not open in any area where it is prohibited today, neither in cities nor in protected natural areas. Already with the laws in force it is possible to carry out control in these areas, over 16,000 wild boars were killed in national and regional parks alone in 2021".
This was stated by Federparchi, commenting in a note on the measure included in the maneuver and explaining in particular that "the law modifies law 157/92 (which concerns wildlife) and not law 394/91, which concerns protected areas".
The amendment, continues the federation, "contains positive and critical aspects. The ambiguous wording that required 'ecological methods' before using captures and killings has been removed.
Perhaps the legislator was thinking of 'non-bloody methods', but as it was written it meant nothing.
It is also positive that 'road safety' has been included among the reasons for the interventions.
Too many accidents, even serious ones, mainly caused by wild boars.
Instead, it is useless and harmful - continues Federparchi - to limit the possibility of control interventions to hunters only for two reasons.
The provision concerns all wildlife, not only that which is hunted, and if a hunter can possess the know-how for control operations involving huntable species (wild boars, deer, fallow deer, moufflons, etc.), nobody knows how it must intervene on other species, especially alien ones (grey squirrel, raccoon, parakeet, etc.).
The help of specialists is needed for the success of the actions.
Given the growing problem of invasive/alien species, more and more companies specialized in their control are being formed.
This would be the best solution,
