Women's protest in Kabul against banning from universities, arrests

At least five would have ended up in prison. The minister of education: 'Banned for failure to comply with dress rules' (ANSA)


At least 5 women have been arrested in Kabul: over twenty had staged a protest against the ban on universities imposed by the Taliban in recent days.


    The BBC reports it, specifying that among the people who ended up in handcuffs there are also three journalists.


    Videos posted online show more than twenty hijab-clad women marching through the streets of the capital, carrying banners and slogans.


    Then, the witnesses report the arrests were made. 

According to the Taliban, women have been banned from universities in Afghanistan for "failing to respect the rules of dress"

, according to the education minister.
