At the end of each year, Bill Gates takes stock of the past 12 months, and 2022 was no exception to the rule.
In a post published on his GatesNotes blog on December 20, the Microsoft co-founder reviews recent advances in technology, talks about climate change, but also discusses his divorce from Melinda Gates, the death of his father and the pregnancy of his daughter. Elder.

“I turned 67 in October.
I can't believe I'm that old - in America most people my age are retired!"
He then explains how his outlook on life has changed since learning about his daughter Jennifer's pregnancy.
“I started looking at the world through a new lens when my eldest daughter broke the amazing news to me that I will be becoming a grandfather next year.”
The eldest of Bill and Melinda Gates, 26, announced at the end of November that she was expecting her first child, the fruit of her union with Nayel Nassar.
Bill Gates continues the intimate confidences.
"Just typing this phrase - 'I'll be a grandfather next year' - moves me.
And this thought gives a new dimension to my work.

"Difficult times"
If he is already looking forward to this birth to come, the American admits having gone through a complicated year.
"With the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the economic slowdown, the last three years have been among the most difficult," he insists.

To overcome this ordeal, the multi-billionaire says today that he was able to count on the support of those close to him.
"Being rich makes my life much more comfortable, but not more fulfilling," he says on his blog.

“I will end up not appearing on the list of the richest anymore”
Finally, Bill Gates is taking advantage of this introspection to announce that he could soon no longer appear on the list of the richest personalities in the world.
"Although I don't care where I rank on the list of the richest people in the world, I know that as I succeed in giving, I will go downhill and eventually not appear on the list at all," explains the one who still holds a fortune valued at more than 100 billion dollars.
Indeed, the billionaire philanthropist has every intention of donating his fortune to support many causes during his lifetime.
