The investigating judge of Bergamo froze with a preventive seizure decree, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office which implemented a European investigation order of the Belgian judiciary in the investigation into Qatargate,

six current accounts in the name of Antonio Panzeri, his daughter Silvia, the former secretary general of the International Confederation of Trade Unions Luca Visentini and Francesco Giorgi

, former collaborator of former MEP Panzeri.

In particular, as the Bergamo prosecutor Antonio Chiappani communicates in a note, around 200 thousand euros have been blocked in an account of Silvia Panzeri and 40 thousand euros in one of her father.

The defense of Maria Dolores Colleoni, wife of Antonio Panzeri

- a former MEP in Brussels prison for Qatargate -

filed an appeal with the Cassation

against the decision of the Brescia Court of Appeal which on Monday gave the green light to the delivery of the 67-year-old to Belgium .

The appeal by lawyers Angelo De Riso and Nicola Colli is based on "persistent problems in Belgian prisons, including long-standing overcrowding and staff shortages".

Elements that led another panel of judges from Brescia on Tuesday to postpone the decision on his daughter Silvia Panzeri to January for further information.

For Panzeri's wife and daughter, in fact, two different decisions have arrived from Brescia in recent days: for Colleoni, wrote the panel, "there are serious indications of guilt" and the green light has been given for delivery, while for Silvia Panzeri (they are both under house arrest) the judges have established that the Ministry of Justice will have to ask for further information on the conditions of prisons in Belgium.

The appeal for Colleoni's position blocks the enforceability of the delivery decided by the judges.

Now the Cassation will have to fix a hearing and the decision could arrive within ten days.

The second section of the Court of Appeal, led by Giulio De Antoni, decided, in particular, to grant Silvia Panzeri a postponement until next January 3: a deadline for acquiring information on the situation in Belgian prisons, after her two lawyers illustrated a report by the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment which revealed "a series of persistent problems in Belgian prisons, including long-standing overcrowding and understaffing".

A question that has now also been re-proposed in the Cassation for Panzeri's wife, who draws strength precisely from the provision of the Brescian judges.

The European arrest warrant for criminal association, corruption and money laundering against the two women was executed last December 9 in Italy, when in Belgium, among others, Panzeri, the former collaborator Francesco Giorgi and the comrade Eva Kaili, now former Vice-President of the European Parliament.

 - Niccolò Figà-Talamanca's apartment in Cervinia, seized by the investigating judge of Aosta as part of the Qatargate investigation, was purchased last April through a bank loan of 200,000 euros, with a term of 10 years, stipulated with a bank of Brussels by Nakaz Development sprl, a company set up in 2007 by Figà-Talamanca himself and his wife.

This is learned from notarial sources and from the contract with the banking institution which ANSA has examined.

Figà-Talamanca bought it from a couple from Lecco, with a deed signed last April 29 before a notary from Chatillon, for the sum of 215,000 euros.

It is a 90 square meter flat on the fourth floor, consisting of 5 rooms plus a garage.
